Just a quick question ..am i right in thinking that the Align LOC option aligns the LOC correctly with the Flight Sim runway? if this is the case then you have saved me loads of time and effort Aligning the ILS/LOC to the runway with free downloaded scenery manually using AFX/ADE . I know some LOCs can be offset a few degs but quite a few Airports that i have downloaded ive noticed the LOC was too far to the left or right so i would spend some time correcting this but now using your tool its only takes seconds... when re-check AFX the ILS is aligned spot on.
Thanks Rich

>>am i right in thinking that the Align LOC option aligns the LOC correctly with the Flight Sim runway<< Yes that's how it works and alignment is performed relative to the sim runway. However it may be disabled if AIE detects some kind of misalignment in its internal ILS database (could be a true offset localizer or, from time to time, incorrect published coordinates of the localizer antenna relative to runway). Option can still be "forced" in program Options in such a case (but I will first have a look to real data before)

Hello,
Since this ILS doesn't exist in real life and you cannot make use of AIRAC database facilities, it is a bit more complicated (but still easy) I'm not at home by now but I will provide you a small "tutorial" (with pictures) in a couple of days. I will take your example and publish the link here Stay tuned

Fantastic! Thank you very much! Am I correct in assuming the created ILS frequencys will not show up in the FSX map data etc?

Hallo,
Can you please advise on changing the ILS frequency at FALA in FSX scenery folder 0605 APX55410.bgl? Using Aie 1.85 I have corrected it to 110.70, renamed ICAO code FAJS to FAOR,renamed it to OR Tambo Intl all fine but if you open this bgl with ADE and select FAOR, List Navaids, FALA ILS06L LAI is listed still at 110.90 and duplicate FAJS ILS to the now renamed FAOR airport ILS. If I select FALA when opening this file in ADE, the Navaid list shows ILS 06L LAI correct at 110.70. The problem is, this ILS06L LAI 110.90 at FALA interferes with the new FAOR ILS21R JAI also at 110.90. I hope I explained it correctly.

ADE is not so reliable for examining such modified files because it may include a mix of "stock" data (as defined in a fixed database) and current data as contained in the modified BGL file For such checks I will suggest you use FSX Planner that is an old program (no more web link provided) that works nicely for checking the changes you performed Here it is www.aero.sors.fr/pub/FSXPlanner.rarAIE always lists the current ILS data (Menu Nav Data/Display ILS Data). Only trust that as well as the result obtained in the sim ;-) Now, the changes you performed have already been done in the new APX55410.BGL file I provide in my ILS Regional updates (except may be airport name although new ICAO codes are OK) You may have a look to it here www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html (Africa region) Feel free to send me your new APX55410.bgl file by email if you're still in trouble. I will have a look to it Hervé [Note that FALA rwy is now a 07/25 with ILSDME LAI (110.70) on rwy 07. It was "old" rwy 06L. 06R is closed

Thank you, Herve. It's the issue with ADE that showed duplicated and the original navaids that had me concerned. I installed FSXPlanner you suggested and your Africa region Navaids updates and all look fine. Tested with your new APX55410.bgl and "my" file in FSX and no interference on ILS21R at 110.90 by ILS LAI at FALA.
