Hi Herve. I wonder if you could advise me regarding the use of your tools. I think I understand how to use the World Navaids package to update P3D [2.4]. However, after the 'conflicts' button has generated a list of obsolete navaids, the notification suggests removing them. Does this mean completely remove the actual *.bgl file from the scenery folder or just the bad nav data contained inside the bgl? If it is just the removal of the bad data I assume I would do this using the easynav tool?
I have run the easynav tool and and imported a listed bgl file and, as expected, the relevant boxes are populated, but at this point I am unsure how to proceed. Do I just tick the INOP box? And if so, what then? The tool seems to just save the ammended bgl to another file with a endb extension! I cannot setup the default directories [from options] because I have no idea where P3D keeps them. I tried a system wide search using the file extensions mentioned and no such files exist anywhere! So, how do I get the changes I make to be reflected in P3D?
Any and all clarifications re the above are really what I need here.
Thanks for your time. Lif.

Hi Lif
No, you will not be able to remove/change navaids inside a BGL just using EasyNavs, keeping all the rest. EasyNavs is just a navaid extractor/editor but is unable to rebuild the complete BGL file. There is no simple solution for that if you want to keep your addon sceneries. The only one I can see is to edit each navaid using the "BGL Nav editor" so as to remove it if it doesn't exist any more or make it match the real data. Always make a backup of the files you modify. Remember that the navaids listed in the "confict" area are contained in addon sceneries BGLs and have a higher priority than the default sceneries for which I propose my navaid updates Of course the best would be the author of the scenery makes the necessary corrections but they are not always very responsive on these aspects. May be you can also live with it, depending on the importance of the necessary changes! On my side, the main purpose of the "conflicts" display was to inform users on what the Sim was showing (and why) and avoid them complaining that one or several corrections I proposed were wrong (2 mails a day as an average)!

Ok. Will reconsider my stratagy here. Thanks for the additional info and your time. Lif.
Err, one thing, You suggest I should edit each navaid using the "BGL Nav editor". Where is the download link for this? The links I have looked at indicate that the "BGL Nav editor" is part of EasyNavs which you say I shouldnt use! Thanks

BGL Navaids Direct Editor is a separate software. It is installed with the EasyNav package (BGLNavEditor.exe) as well as ILS Inspector. It enables to perform DIRECT changes of navaids inside BGLs without any need for decompiling and without changes to other parts. Yes you can use it but always make a copy of the BGLs you modify just in case. Just select your addon folder using the "File Selection/Analyze Folder" menu. Unckeck the "Only analyze stock sim files" option before performing the search. Then make the changes you wish and test in the Sim
