When launching the installer, I've got the message "Flight Simulator is installed in a protected system directory, not enabling update and uninstall processes. Administrator accounts with UAC fully disabled may still use the program to update.."
The simulator P3d V4.5 is installed in an external SSD. UAC fully disabled. The installer with administrator rights (run as administrator) is been executed.
IOS Windows 11. Norton 360 is installed.
Could anyone provide me any guidance.
Best Regards Rodrigo Pacheco

Hi Rodrigo, No there's no manual except this one www.aero.sors.fr/documentation/FSXP3DNavaidsUpdate.pdfHave a look at it I didn't make any test on Windows 11, but it is unlikely folder protection system has changed Anyway, you may try launching the installer with the following flag FSXP3DNavaids_Installer.exe /forcepermissions Let me know Hervé

Hi Herve. Thanks for the suggestion.
Could you please provide some guidance on how to force this command of /forcepermissions. Via C: prompt or another way. I'll search on my side. Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Regards Rodrigo

Just open a cmd window. Locate to the directory where the installer exe is and type: FSXP3DNavaids_Installer.exe /forcepermissions An easier way is to go with the explorer to the folder where the exe is, right click on it then "Open cmd window here", then as above

No, it should not be a problem. I think the problem could be you unzipped the package INSIDE the simulator path (i.e D:\Virtual Aviation\Prepar3D\Scenery\aero.sors.fr\2111!!) It is not a good idea IMO and I really don't know how/why you create an "aero.sors.fr\2011" folder inside the sim structure I will suggest you first remove the following folder and all its content -> D:\Virtual Aviation\Prepar3D\Scenery\aero.sors.fr Then create on your D disk a simple temporary directory as for example -> D:\Temp (or any other name you wish) Unzip the downloaded package inside it nowhere else Then open a cmd window and type D:\Temp\FSXP3DNavaids_Installer.exe /forcepermissions Let me know If it works, you may erase the temporary directory or keep it if you wish to uninstall the package

>>Could I apply the same solutions for the WorldUpdate?<< Yes for sure and I don't think you'll need any "forcepermissions" flag now. I'm unsure I implemented it for the WorldUpdate installer anyway

Hi Herve Good morning. I've tried to execute the .exe both without the forcepermissions and with, unzipping the content within the temp file. Unfortunately, the software stop running with the associated message. Flight simulator is installed in a protected system directory., not enabling update and uninstall processes. Administrator accounts with UAC fully disabled may still the program to update. You may also change permission rights on your sim folder so as to be able to update. Windows PowerShell Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Install the latest PowerShell for new features and improvements! aka.ms/PSWindowsPS E:\temp> E:\Temp\AutoInstaller.exe /forcepermissions PS E:\temp> D:\Temp\AutoInstaller.exe PS E:\temp> UAC is disabled. And as I mentioned before the security tab is not visible within the folder in the SSD. As always, thanks for all the inputs. Regards Rodrigo
