Hi Herve,
Installed latest airac 2206
Noticed some missing dme's as part of the ils(same freq/ident) while up to date Jeppesen approach charts shows ils/dme should be present.
Example: EGKK 26R and 08L are both having a ILS/DME with separate freq/ident.
When I select the relative EGKK afcad for ils update and airport details I can see that in the original ils/dme is properly installed. Then when I select "get from airac" the DME has disappeared. The only solution here is to deactivate dme tick and install manually a dme facility I checked the AIE airac database and obvious there the relative dme is missing as well.
Same I noticed f.e with ILS's for EHAM.
Is there some update mishap in the AIE database?
Cheers,
Marcel

Hi Marcel,
No, the DMEs didn't disappear but are located by AIE at runway threshold. The small DME square is visible at this position. You will notice on relevant charts (and AIPs) that for these ILSs, DME reads 0 at runway threshold, the reason why they are arbitrarily relocated to this position. It is not a problem since there's no associated visual object for DMEs. The same applies for EHAM. This is the (only) correct way for reading published distances while on the corresponding approaches. The same technique is used by Navigraph in its MSFS updates In AIE AIRAC database DMEs are provided at their true published coordinates but you will see a special mention between brackets: (DME reads 0 at threshold). These "true" coordinates are not used for the reason explained above. In real life, the DME antenna is evidently not physically located at threshold but a special calibration procedure is applied. You shouldn't add any DME since they are already defined and active while committing changes from the AIE database Hope it will clarify the problem

Hi Herve,
Thx for the update indeed these ils plates indicate dme read "0" at TH but I thought that the virtual dme coordinates should be displayed anyway. So de dme "tick" is sufficient to show dme is active/present in that case thx for the explanation.
Cheers,
Marcel
