Hello Herve! First of all, thank you very much for all your tools and the time for keeping up this forum!
I am running FSX SP2 + GSX on Windows 10 and I tried, for the first time, to install the BGLS for cycle 2208 with the new single installer. Everything is fine, except for the BGLs in the Europe area. When I install them, GSX is disappearing from the Add On menu and couatl.exe stops running. Checking both logs (GSX and the installer) there is no error message, although GSX stops working when trying to parse the BGLs. I have disabled all third part sceneries and Addon scenery. If I restore the original FSX BGLs, GSX run smoothly. I have this problem only for the european airport BGLs in APXFiles directory.
Last time I installed the BGLs update it was some time ago (there were still to installers instead of one) and there was no problem at all. I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem. Could it be that there is some problem with the updated BGLs?
Bye, Mark

Hi Mark, Thanks for the report. I presume you installed or updated the FSX Europe files I'm not familiar with GSX. I presume it is what is mentioned here www.fsdreamteam.com/products_gsx.htmlSince I don't know how it works for parsing files and the information it retrieves from them, I hardly can answer your question. Updated BGL files are working without any problem in the sim and I couldn't detect any error by now. Since many files are updated, it would be necessary I know where exactly is the problem. If GSX stops working when parsing files, I expect a log file is created indicating where and why it failed Without it, I'm afraid I will not be able to see if there is a problem with one or several updated files Hervé

Hi,
Yes, that's the GSX I was talking about, and yes I was updating the FSX Europe files. All the other regions updates flawlessly. I will have a better look at GSX's log files to understand what is the issue.
Thanks for the reply! Have a nice weekend!
Bye, Mark

Hi Hervé, Since I am on Holiday and I was curious I did some tests. I found out that there is only one bgl file in the package 2208 that seems to have a problem: APX53160.BGL (0602, Europe)
I tried to import it in scruffy's Airport Design Editor but I could not open it. I then tried to convert the bgl to xml with scruffy's bgl2xml and I managed to decompile the bgl. However, if I try to recompile the xml back (no changes) with the FSX SDX bglcomp.exe it gives me this error:
Parsing document: APX53160.BGL.xml
INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2033: XML Parse Error (line, column, error)
ERROR: 11671, 23, enumeration constraint failed.
The attribute: 'waypointType' has an invalid value according to its data type.
INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2377: Bad WayPointType 'UNKNOWN', should be Faf, Iaf, Named, Ndb, OffRoute, UnNamed, or Vor! INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2031: Failed element parse <Waypoint> INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2032: XML Parse Error! Element tree follows:
ERROR: <FSData ERROR: version = 9.0 ERROR: > ERROR: <Waypoint ERROR: lat = 0 ERROR: lon = 0 ERROR: waypointType = UNKNOWN ERROR: magvar = 0 ERROR: waypointIdent = ERROR: > ERROR: INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2607: Compilation errors detected, compilation failed!
When you have time, could you please check if the file APX53160.BGL in the update package is fine? FSX does not complain at all, only GSX seems to complain. Thank you again
Bye, Mark

Thanks Mark for the comprehensive report. Will have a look at this file and let you know soon
-H [Edit: Same result as you. Unfortunately, decompiling doesn't indicate where this fake waypoint record was located.. Anyway this is a small file that will be easy to rebuild from scratch Since then you may delete it and rename your APX53160.BGL.bglbckup -> APX53160.BGL You will only lose a few airport updates in the Kosovo area If this file is the culprit then GSX shouldn't complain anymore]

Hi Hervé, Thank you very much for the feedback. I noticed that just removing the offending waypoint entry from the decompiled bgl and recompiling it again, makes everything working perfectly (keeping the updated airports)! Bye, Mark

Hi all,
The problem has been identified as the result of a damaged file (APX53160.bgl) that has been corrected in R2 of the FSXP3D World Navaid package and also provided to affected users I close this topics Thanks for the report
